What this policy covers

This policy covers this website only.

Our products hold their own data and are governed by their own privacy policies. If you are a user of one of them, that policy is the one that applies to you, not this one:

If you are a participant, client or employee of an organisation that uses one of our products, that organisation controls your records. We hold them on its behalf. Requests about your own information should go to that organisation first.

What we collect on this site

Nothing, unless you fill in the contact form. This site has no accounts, no sign-up, no shopping cart and no comment fields. The only thing here to fill in is the enquiry form on the home page, and only if you choose to.

We set no cookies and run no analytics. We do not track you across sites, build a profile of you, or run advertising pixels. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

What happens automatically

Two things involve third parties, and we would rather name them than leave them unsaid.

Hosting: This site is served by Vercel. Like any web server, it records standard request information (including your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user agent) and keeps it for a limited period for delivery, security and diagnostics. This site is served from Vercel's global network, so it may be delivered from outside Australia. That is a statement about this brochure site, not about our products, which state their own residency arrangements.
Fonts: Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser requests them from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and user agent in the process. We do not send Google anything else, and no cookie is set by this.

If you use the contact form

The form asks for your name, your email address, your organisation if you want to give it, and your message. We use those to read your enquiry and reply to it. Nothing else.

Your message is not stored in a database. There is no admin panel and no record of enquiries anywhere on this website. The form hands your message to a mail provider, Resend, which delivers it to our inbox and keeps a short-lived delivery log. From that point it is an email in our mailbox, held under the section below.

Resend is based in the United States, so your message passes through servers outside Australia on its way to us. If you would rather it did not, email us directly instead. The address is on this page, and it reaches the same people.

The form carries two quiet checks for automated submissions: a field that is hidden from people, and how long the page was open before it was sent. Neither identifies you, and neither is kept.

If you email us

If you write to hello@oriontechnology.com.au, or reach us through the form above, we hold your message and your address so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. We use it for that and nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent contact details to anyone, ever.

Who else sees it

No one, beyond the three providers named above acting on our behalf, and anyone we are legally required to disclose to. We do not share, sell or trade information from this site.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@oriontechnology.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled a privacy matter, tell us first so we have a chance to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above. Material changes to how we handle information will be described here rather than made quietly.
